ETFs in particular provide clear evidence of the vitality of these types of products. Over the past ten years, this product class has grown from a few isolated securities holding little more than one billion dollars to a new industry of over 250 securities holding assets approaching nearly 500 billion dollars. With ongoing changes in market structure and growing awareness of the efficiencies these products offer, growth is expected to accelerate in the years ahead.
